
In looking at the various clubs available in Germany, I ran across references to “Narrenzünfte” which I saw translated as “fools’ guilds.” I found the website for one of them here:

Narrenzünfte are mostly engaged with Fasching / Karneval / whatever local name you want to use. Honestly, I can’t imagine day-to-day affairs are too exciting, there’s probably a lot of money management to do for the bigger ones, and a non-trivial amount logistical planning.
