The insurrection was the coordinated efforts by the Trump administration to replace electors with fraudulent electors in Arizona, Michigan, and several other states and overturn the election.

The Constitution *exclusively* vests Congress with the ability to remove the insurrection disability from an individual. SCOTUS **cannot** adjudicate this, because by rendering a verdict they can then impeach certain individuals (a power granted exclusively to Congress), or give certain individuals amnesty (a power exclusively granted to Congress) _without_ Congress.
For this reason, it’s obvious that the disqualification clause is a sort of impeachment, which the Constitution specifically vests in Congress the right to try, for obvious reasons.
