Why is it celebrities who can afford things want the fans to pay fir it instead?
If I were a literal millionaire, and I wanted my kid to do something like play baseball, I would spend the thousands needed each year to make sure he had a good time with his friends, without resorting to asking people who have literally less than 1% of my money to donate.

A quick search – and I don’t know how accurate it is – shows that Alyssa has a net worth of $10 million and her husband is worth another $5 million.
So completely underwriting the expenses for the entire team to travel to Cooperstown would not require them to dip into savings….
I think people are more offended that she’s using America’s primary emergency healthcare system for something frivolous versus being offended by a rich person cyber-panhandling.
Is it for her kids or the team? Are all the kids from rich homes? If not then maybe back off.
She should break out some of that Teen Steam money and pay for her kids baseball trip.
Alyssa Milano took to Twitter/X to address the backlash over the GoFundMe she set up to help fund her son’s baseball team saying … “I’m getting media inquiries about whether I have financially contributed to my son’s baseball team.”
Alyssa continued, “I’ve paid for uniforms for the entire team and coaches, thrown bday parties and sponsor any kid who can’t afford monthly dues. The kids also do fundraising themselves—car washes, movie nights, and many other fun things!”
“Thank you to all who have contributed to the gofundme! You’ve made things easier for these boys and their families.”
Maybe because if they paid for everything they would be broke ,
I literally only heard about this because someone decided it was necessary to bitch about on reddit. And it just leaves me wondering what drives people to continue to make shit like this a thing. Just fucking move in with your life and stop giving it attention.
The bigger issue is how much children’s sports cost now. This was something that was essentially free in the past.
I think another thing to consider is that all or most sports teams fundraise for events, other parents don’t always want the rich parents to cover everything cause it can be seen as a little degrading and the rich people don’t want to always just pay for everything even if it’s nothing to them…
