I doubt this will pass even though it gives the GOP what they wanted pretty much. This would look like a win and progress. The GOP will do anything they can to not allow that for the democrats no matter what. Unpatriotic politics in the US at this time.
Republicans have become a cancer to the United States, one that must be excised with EXTREME prejudice. They willingly weaken their nation and its allies to please a man that probably has a year left to leave, not to mention heavy onset dementia to the point that Biden looks like a 20-something year old. May God smite them with no ending fury.
If the deal includes any “acceptable” level of illegal immigration or parole, it’s DOA.

What does it mean that POTUS could shut down the border if it’s overwhelmed? If I’m in Cancun for vacation, could I locked out of a closed border? That would be nuts.
The senate isn’t the problem though, the roadblock is the house.
It’s not the senate… it’s the house. The house has been filled with Maga clowns that would rather see Russia succeed than compromise with democrats on anything.
That means exactly diddly-squat. Perpetually “unveiling” shit in the Senate is just a way to run out the clock on Ukraine until the general US national election later this year, when the Republicans hope to take control of the White House, force the USA out of NATO, and severely harm Ukraine’s ability to make progress against the Russian invasion.
Everyone has to keep that in mind. All that these Senators do is aimed at that one outcome. Even though the intra-party election has not yet taken place, they are all preparing for what they hope to be Trump’s victory. Knowing 100% what it will mean for Ukraine.
So every time they hem and haw and solemnly announce that as grave, sincere, responsible statesmen they are “unveiling” a new compromise, they know that it won’t go anywhere. They knew all along that it wouldn’t. They know right now that this aid deal won’t go anywhere either.
