Drax shouldn’t be allowed to import any fuel, if there isn’t enough waste to burn in the UK it should shut.
Hunterston B Nuclear station switched off for good yesterday with more to follow within a very few years time due to age and condition. Hinckley B years off completion with nothing more within a decade of commissioning. Wind and Solar unable to provide predictable generating capacity, especially during winter periods due to their intermittent availability. A consequential UK reliance on Gas to provide the baseload with the only two coal station left generating unable to do so any longer, also soon to close quite what do you suggest replaces Drax’s 4MW output which could be up and running within a couple of years?
Then you wonder why the UK has a looming cost of living crisis?
