> At the same time, he said, “The tens of thousands of men and women who work for UNRWA, many in some of the most dangerous situations for humanitarian workers, should not be penalized. The dire needs of the desperate populations they serve must be met.”
Two things:
(a) UN Watch has been shouting about this for years and [UNRWA published articles whole cloth denying the foundation of Hillel Neuer’s claims](https://www.unrwa.org/newsroom/official-statements/unrwa-statement-un-watch-allegations), and he had mountains of evidence. He reported it straight to Philippe Lazzarini in person, and Philippe just today denied ever hearing about these claims. UNRWA is completely, 100%, without a doubt full of shit.
(b) This statement makes the assumption that every single other person in UNRWA is totally kosher, but the last 48ish hours have _just been about the people who actively participated in 10/7_. Besides hostage holding, propagandizing, actively killing and kidnapping, there are other aspects of Hamas membership that UN Watch/Hillel Neuer have been discussing for a long, long ass time. I hope UN Watch gets the platform they have doggedly pursued and UNRWA gets rebuilt from the ground up, hopefully outside the confines of the corrupt organization.
Lastly, the article title really kinda sounds like one person was killed _because_ of the UNRWA people, lol.
Denying the people of Gaza food in the process. Isn’t that one of the requirements for genocide.
It’s time to probe Guterres himself as big friend of ruzzian terrorists
I suspect there’s a lot of information that hasn’t been released to the global public yet.
A dozen or so UNRWA employees participating in October 7th terrorism is statistically not very surprising, considering UNRWA employs 13,000 people in Gaza. On average, probably 1 in 100 military age Gazans directly participated in October 7, and maybe 1 in 20 military age Gazan men are Hamas militants in some capacity. So if UNRWA employees were average Gazans, we’d reasonably expect more on the order of 130 to have been involved.
Which makes me think there is much more damming evidence out there. Maybe UNRWA leadership was complicit. Maybe UNRWA facilities were used for staging and organizing. Or UNRWA resources were diverted with leadership collaboration to support the attacks. I expect more information will come out in the weeks to come, because some states historically not pro-Israel have already announced suspension of UNRWA financing.
Wow that was unbias reporting, still cannot enter reading view for this outlet though so tend to avoid trying anymore and wait for other networks to. Facts before opinions or its just opinions without options. Why y?
Take Guterres to the Hague.
The UN is culpable for the carnage and the tragically lost lives of innocent Israelis and Gazans alike.
Guterres: “massacre didn’t happen in a vaccuum.”
This guy is a joke
Yes of course Lazzarini wants nations to continue to pour hundreds of millions if not billions into rebuilding the Hamas tunnels. To rebuilding their weapon stock piles because that’s what we’re talking about here. That’s what the overwhelming amount of ‘humanitarian aid’ was used for- to try to destroy Israel. Gutty knows it. Lazarrini knows it.
What blows me away is the chutzpah of their responses.
There is no ‘ya sorry about that – that shouldn’t have happened’ – its actually just more threats just like the Hamas style.
UN is a terrorist Organisation, correct?
How convenient! U had no idea they peoples were involved in terror attack,😁
This guy should step down
Basically – they got caught. At best, they have no idea who is on their payroll and what they are doing / teaching. At worst, they do, and they are okay with it.
And let’s be honest, a lot of UNRWA funding goes straight to Hamas, and UNRWA cannot be trusted to manage their finances or their people.
THESE people are the ones who could have put a foot forward and possibly prevented this.
