I really feel bad for the Russians that don’t agree with this war at all, let alone those that get drafted into it without them really wanting it. Meanwhile you have a president there that sits and watches it all happen and keeps sending them in without staining his hands. Really disgusting shit. And then there are the people that really think he will “save” their country… It’s really sad to see how people are still so easy to manipulate after everything we should have learned from history…

Reminds me of ww1/ww2-like propaganda posters: pure, distilled dehumanisation. If you view them as drunk pigs…you wouldn’t negotiate with pigs, would you? You wouldn’t try to understand their motivation. And suddenly you realise that the idea of an all-out war is not longer repulsive, because they’re pigs and we’re human.
I’ve see many claims on reddit that Western civilisation is too educated and progressive to be become a victim of a dehumanisation rhetoric, yet after reading comments on /r/europe and /r/worldnews i’m not so sure about that. Although I still have a glimmer of hope that the audience of these subs is mostly a vocal extremist minority.
