  2. People don't primarily use smart phones for tasks, they use them primarily for entertainment. I'm watching this segment on my phone. Why would I want to get rid of a screen? Edit: I think the voice translation is really cool though

  6. Nah…just integrate all of that into my cellphone for now…because this Tech is not consumer ready yet. My cellphone can do live translations too.

Every tech company is trying to invent the next “smartphone” but forgot that smartphone become popular because they were cheaper and have basically the same functionality of a computer, if anything the smartwatch would already replaced the smartphone but it didn’t because the smartphone is the new “tv”, most people uses smartphones for social media,streaming and gaming the rest is just convenience of access

  14. Does this allow me to open a web browser (Firefox, in my case) and browse the Internet for when I'm away from home (and my desktop)? No? How about being able to listen to my local music files since I don't use streaming services like Spotify? Oh, that's a "No" too? Then something like this isn't replacing my smartphone.

  15. This is the dumbest idea and dumbest news coverage. The point of phone with screen is irreplaceable. The whole point is being able to manage emails, calenders, watch a quick video, reading the news etc. This is one of these inventions that is trying to be Steve Jobs badly. Imagine walking around and everyone is talking commanding this AI pin.

  18. Nice toy but I will stick with my smartphone with an interface that everyone around me does not have to hear, does not rely on being 'connected' to do anything/everything, let alone let everyone near me hear me talking to it.

  19. The Humane Pin is a bad version of Google glasses; the company won't survive… However, expect integrated glasses to make a comeback when battery tech improves some.

  31. I've been thinking of this for 15 years now. You can dial or text using your fingers and palm. Each fingertip touch on different parts of the palm can be a combination of letters or numbers

  38. They will only have my admiration if they come up with a device that can offer at least 80 percent of their promised functionality using only "solar" power, ergo; NO BATTERIES or AC outlet.
