Not one president since WWII of the Republican Party has had a successful term financially. All were losers, all had Recessions. Ronnie Raygun had three recessions and quadrupled the US National Debt while he headed a drug smuggling operation with Ollie North. Carter had no recessions and neither did Clinton, who balanced the budget nor Obama who ran a successful eight year term. Now President Biden has overcome the disaster of Trump and had a fantastic recovery. So, tell me again how Republicans are the party of financial responsibility……..

The Trump Slump was a pretty shit time for people who work for a living, that’s for sure. I never thought I’d see a president so bad they could net a loss of jobs in my lifetime… But there you have it.

facism is terrible for the general economy. having a centralized autocracy and forcible suppression of opposition kills inovation and the development of new technology except for finding new ways to kill people. But when an authoritarian leader takes over the central bank and can set intrest rates thats when a once prosperous nation becomes Venezuela or Argentina. For anyone who says Nazi Germany prospered under Hitler – they are wrong. That economy was running on borrowed money and the wealth stolen from the Jewish people. If Trump is allowed back in the White House again – we will all become much poorer – many of us will starve.
Biden needs to forcefully address the calls for secession and insurrection immediately. Assuming this rhetoric will go away is myopic and, given how Republicans have used repetition to normalize the heinous in the past (“We are all domestic terrorists,” leaps to mind), he is leaving a wide fucking door open to those states in question mobilizing their National Guards because they smell weakness in his hesitation.
It can happen here, and it most certainly can happen again.
