  1. THE person moving to disqualify Trump is Trump himself. Responsible, patriotic Coloradans are simply doing their civic duty.

  2. February 8th we find out if Haley becomes the only Republican candidate available for general election who has a chance to actually run. Its not just Colorado that’s seeking to block Trump.

  3. Personally, I’d like to see the American people roundly and unequivocally reject Trump on election day. Like he gets 5% of the popular vote and not a single electoral college vote. That would be the preferable scenario. The entire electorate wakes up to the fact that he’s a stupid, fat, tiny-handed joke of a man with no redeeming qualities and an extremely tenuous grasp on reality.

  4. The stain on US history is him becoming president in the first place. This is the voters cleaning up the mess he created/creates. It will be interesting how the “originalists” on the bench handle the 14th Amendment. If they rule against him, the MAGA world will explode. If they rule for him, they just confirm the SCOTUS I just another political arm (as if they haven’t proven that already, but this will make the argument concrete.

  5. Al-Qaeda could only have dreamt of being as successful as MAGAts at attacking the US.

  6. And they are correct in that statement. Trump and the MAGA people have done tremendous harm to this country and its institutions. However, it was Trump and his actions that disqualified him, not the people who are trying to uphold our laws.

  7. Republicans need to be reminded of this fact every single day.

  8. I look at it this way; If a 25 year old tried to get on the primary ballot for Pres they would be barred because a 25 year old cannot hold the office of the Presidency, period. If you can’t hold the office, you shouldn’t even be on the primary ballot, because it would effectively deny representation to the people of that state if an ineligible person was on the ballot and won, but could not hold office. Hopefully, they tackle it from an angle like that.

  9. Since 1780 there have been 250 insurrections of various levels in the United States.

Jan 6, I believe, was the biggest one. This is not a fluke. It has happened enough that there is an ammendment to the US constitution for it.

That is to say this: this isn’t rare, and has been delt with for some time now. There is no controversy or question of what happend. Only now, in our current climate would traitors still be in power enough that they could claim there is nuance to what happened.

A group of people attempted to stop a direct government action and directly impede through violence, the will of the people. Their leader in an attempt to remain in power refused to mitigate the situation as he watched, knowing full well he could stop it, or at least indicate that he wanted to. He did neither. In fact he cheered them on, even when the mob showed evidence of real danger to officers of the United States government.

That’s an insurrection. Not a protest. Not a riot. An insurrection. And the leader, the senior officer of the US at the time, led it.

The end. There’s nothing to discuss here.

The Supreme Court needs to rule accordingly if they are going to claim to be constitutionalists.

  10. at least 4 justices: “yes, and that stain is that the US failed to bow down before the coup like the good little serfs we keep telling you that you are”

  11. So true. Like a giant skid mark on the whitey tighties of American history. Trump will be known as the turd that precipitated that skid mark.

  12. The former president stood before a crowd of supporters and told them, “Go fight like they never fought before or You will no longer have a country.”
That’s a call to Arms from the Commander in Chief, which is also why many of the defendants said in their cases they did it because “Trump told them to”
Trump repeatedly and KNOWINGLY LIED about the 2020 election results. He said His vice president was a coward because He would not( could not) violate the Constitution and stop the certification of the vote.
    BTW, remember he has said,
“He didn’t have to support the Constitution because it was in the oath of office.”
by his words and actions, He DID incited his supporters to charge the capital.

  13. Republicans want Trump off the ballot. Democrats would love to have him on the ballot, because he’s the easiest person for Biden to beat. The fact that half the country can’t see that, speaks volumes about our failed educational system.

  14. We will not notice the stain because it is already covered with ketchup stains and… poop.

  15. The news cycle flits to the next shiny object so quickly it is like January 6 is being forgotten. Never forget it was an attack on the very foundation of democracy.

  16. It’s a stain he’s allowed to run at all and that he still walks free. He should have swung with the rest of the traitors.
