why buy crap when you can buy good stuff.
India won’t stray far from Russia.
But at the same time India kinda proved they are cant be trusted. If they will sell them some new hitech shit iam sure they would share it with russkies to try to duplicate it.
Heard that India paid and got junk or even nothing back.
This was bound to happen anyway, for most areas i would assume. The indians arms industry has developed quite a lot in the last couple decades or so. Even without the war they probably would have shifted towards domestic production sooner than later.
Why pay another country when you can build comparable things yourself and have the money actually stay within your economy. Although i guess the war could have put a spotlight on that bit. That they actually can make comparable gear. Or perhaps ‘better’ gear even, as it could be much more alligned by design to their doctrines, geopgraphy and what all else their requirements are.
