  1. **Pugh says -**

    > “I’m like, well, this is my moment to learn. ‘So tell me, what’s wrong with this camera?’ You just make your moments. I’m like, ‘What’s going on with the shutter here, buddy?’”

Pugh then said director Christopher Nolan explained there was an issue with the way the light was coming in.

    > “It was just crazy that every person on this set was so knowledgeable and was so ready to make this kind of a movie that there was no dull moment. It was all amazing. It felt like we were lucky to be there every second of the day,” she said.

  2. Unnecessary sex and nudity. Only part of the film I didn’t like. I ain’t no prude, if the movie/show merits it, then go for it. This one did not.

  3. Florence Pugh is crazy hot and an amazing actress. Crazy how little I’ve seen her in so far.

  4. I personally thought the nudity was tastefully done and gave us a chance to see a side of Oppenheimer we might not have otherwise been able to. He wasn’t just a cold and inhuman robot who smoked and drank all day and never ate- he was also a grounded human being with earthly desires for sensation and pleasure. He had a mind that could imagine and dream and compose, but he was not a lazy day-dreamer. He had a physical connection to the world and got stuff done in the present tense, in the here and now, and in his physicality and connection with his own body he manifested his willpower as much as in every other aspect of his life. That’s a part of what set him aside from so many other great minds, and why he was the right man to be chosen by history to lead the manhattan project.

Granted some of the expositional dialogue is less natural than how I imagine most people would be in a given sex situation, but if I imagine the movie without the sex scenes, to me it would feel incomplete. Or it would need to be replaced with an exploration of his intimate life with his wife, which I think really would have slowed down the story and pacing and drawn away from Nolan’s focus on keeping things breakneck and from Oppenheimer’s perspective (for the fission chapters, at least). Just my thoughts.

  5. She’s nude in a lot of her movies , acting like it was nothing doesn’t shock me tbh

  6. “Now I am become horny… the fornicator of communists”. I loved that line, should be in BFI’s top 100 quotes of all time.

  7. Why are people pushing this movie so hard. Who fucking cares. Is it actually good because it seems like it would be extremely boring.

  8. Earlier you could see Cillian slipping the camera man a $20
