Hey everyone!
I’m currently using Telenet only for internet service (already use Mobile Vikings for my phone), but just like everything, it’s getting more and more expensive and I feel like it’s way too expensive for only using internet so it got me wondering.
Is there anyone that uses Mobile Vikings as their internet provider (maybe even switched from telenet or another provider to MV) and if so, are you happy with the connection and stability of it?
I ran a quick speedtest for good measure and wonder how fast MV would be in comparison.
Thanks in advance en ne fijne zondag begot.

Mobile Vikings has been bought by Proximus, they use the same network that Proximus uses.
If you don’t have fiber at your address, it’s going to be okayish, but close to half of what you currently have.
This is only speculation as I have never used their internet!
so this depends on when you do this test. all speeds given are theoreticly. The comparison on MB site is how good it gets.
I’m waiting for my MB fiber … any year now.
I’ve got mobile vikings. As already said, it’s the Proximus network.
May not be as fast as what you have now, but it’s also not that expensive.
Do you need that speed?
I happen to have a technician coming over tomorrow to switch from Proximus to Mobile Vikings. Although it is the same network I am going from 450 Mbps to 1 Gbps (fiber) for less money. I did have Mobile Vikings two years ago and the only thing that worries me is there lousy support.
**Edit**:
**Proximus**: on my PS5 cabled I get about 471 Mbps download speed. Upload is 4.0 Mbps but AFAIK this is capped by Sony. On my mobile phone I get ~350 Mbps download and ~100 Mbps upload (Speedtest with Proximus server in Schaarbeek) and using wifi a couple of meters from my router.
**Mobile Vikings**: will do the same test in the afternoon.
Telenet has the worst stability of all Belgian providers. Regular downtime, fluctuating speeds during peak hours, traffic shaping your connection,…
Your speedtest even shows this. Jitter of more than 30 ms is totally unacceptable.
Just order: [https://mobilevikings.be/en/registration/broadband/check-address](https://mobilevikings.be/en/registration/broadband/check-address)
There is no contract term and no risk of losing money.
You can always go back to Telenet if you don’t like Mobile Vikings.
Just act, Telenet is ripping people off.
Check if there’s fiber in your street. If so it’s a no-brainer to switch. Another option is to switch to orange which uses the telenet network and is cheaper. Whatever you do don’t stay with telenet or Proximus as you’re paying more for the same shit.
Switched from orange (telenet network) to mobile Vikings a few months ago. Very happy with the switch. My street has Proximus fiber and that is what mobile Vikings uses if available. At first I got the “super fast internet” and got about 900 mbps down /650 Mbps up, which is crazy fast. Decided I don’t really need that speed and with a click in the app could choose the cheaper package. Am now playing 37€ for internet +15€ for a mobile plan and getting 100 Mbps down 70 mbps up. I find the router that Mobile Vikings installed is also pretty high end and stable. Important to note is that Mobile Vikings does not offer TV options, you will have to use the seperate apps for vrt max/vtm/goplay.
We did the same switch for the same reasons. The wifi signal isn’t as strong as with telenet, bit I have no complaints about the stability. If anything, we have less issues now, but we had an older Telenet setup, so I’m not sure it’s a fair comparison.
I wasn’t really concerned about the speeds. Both offer plenty for most common tasks, including streaming. Unless you’re maybe a power user who might need the best possible speeds/connection?
It’s not a life long contract, so you could always switch back.
Fck telenet… rip off.
Switched to MV internet only and should have done it sooner.
Not a gamer but connection was quick and easy. Telenet installer took 2 hours, and it didnt work. After 2 months still no internet so i quit telenet and chose mobile vikings.
Got mobile vikings the moment fiber was in my street. I pay 37 euro ( 3 euro less because i also have mobile )
I have 3 mobile abbo’s. 2 of 15 euro and 1 of 10 euro.
So my total bill is 77 euro.
For the connection, stable a a rock but i use an asus router instead of the bbox. My son plays fortnite and he only complains when i’m downloading something.
Actual internet speed and reliability depends on so many factors:
– time of day
– your hardware
– your street
– fuckups by your isp
-fuckups by some technician working somewhere

At the end of the day what matters most is stability and what you use if for. Proximus network is fine for 4k streaming. You will only notice the speed difference if your torrenting, downloading games on steam (maybe), or you have a specific use case of your own.
I switched from Telenet because the stability all of a sudden became incredibly bad, their customer service was completely unresponsive for over a week and I realized I was paying for shit.
Switched to mobile vikings and been very happy. Saves me a significant amount of money and no issues, so far. I do notice the speed difference when torrenting and such but you can plan around that. It’s still good speeds. I was getting similar to yours.
Mobile vikings in Antwerp, right now. Generally the speed seems much closer to what is advertised, unlike Telenet where you get maybe 60%.

Welk abonnement heb je nu bij Telenet? Ik haal nu tussen de 500 en 600 Mbps op mijn iPhone via wifi!
