Basically Nolan is saying he was ready to take a bullet for this show.
Nolan is also a fan of Killing Eve (season 1) and Succession. That’s all the TV he’s seen, I surmise.
It’s been amazing seeing the discourse about it at /r/TheCurse, you can definitely say it’s one of the more unique things on tv in ages, like it or not.
For any show with Nathan Fielder, the sky is the limit.
No offense but I highly doubt Nolan has watched a lot of television in the last 15-20 years, otherwise he wouldn’t make a statement like that. The Curse has many predecessors and influences and besides the extreme awkwardness and the bonkers ending, it’s not very unusual.
Note he also didn’t say it was good. It was not.
Translation: We kill off the main character.
