Watches the collective middle-class shudder in fear.
Well at least there’s London broil
wtf no paella?
This is how the Revolution starts
Why we having checks when we know they are coming from EU, this country is a joke.
I buy some lovely locally cured hams and cured sausages that are just like chorizo at the farm shop at our nearby vineyard.
Oh no. Anyway…
Interesting how the headline has been written as if Sunak is warning us that these items WILL disappear, whereas in fact suppliers are warning him that that they COULD disappear.
Making England great again. You will be getting back to a more traditional English diet, and you are going to like it!
Eel pies for everyone! Twice daily!
But they said Brexit would be good though
but they said
And in France we now get cheddar from Ireland and Belgium (sold as Chester).
If I had a country every time someone warned someone that something was going to dissapear due to Brexit I would have enough countries to form a union bigger than the EU.
I am not saying that Brexit is good just that the arena of information is so muddled with so many warnings that have not happened.
Especially since two of the products parma hams and chorizo can, have and are made in the UK.
Perhaps if we focused the warnings and rhetoric around the fact we need to invest, stop being corrupt and care for people in Britain we might go somewhere. Though that also requires competent leadership.
Back to the pits, ye rabble!
I would unironically go to war over Chorizo
I’ll add this to the warnings about:
A major recession and emergency budget if Brexit was voted for (it didn’t happen)
car manufacturers leaving en-masse (they didn’t)
London losing it’s financial crown to Frankfurt and Paris, and 50,000 jobs going offshore (it hasn’t, and less than 5,000 backroom jobs went offshore to meet EU regulations)
the NHS losing European nurses and doctors (the numbers actually increased)
The UK being sidelined in European security matters (it’s arguably more involved now than ever)
It reminds me of the boy who cried wolf. No wonder so many people are losing trust in the media, “experts”, and politicians. Just admit no-one has a fucking clue.
