Pete Wishart (@PeteWishart) on X | This week is likely to see a new high point in unionist/media attacks on the SNP. They are determined to bring down key people in our movement and they are absolutely committed to (in their view) ‘bury the SNP’. If you think last week was bad. Just wait. ..

  1. Aye, nothing to do with their behaviour at all. It’s all a conspiracy.

Bigger boys made them do all of those things, and it’s really unfair of the media to tell the public about it.

  2. Pete, just so you’re clear on it. This is the finding out stage of the SNP fucking about.

The dildo of consequences seldom arrives lubed.

  3. It’s no secret the media is predominantly unionist and they will absolutely throw as much shit at the SNP and see what sticks but the SNP at the moment would be torn apart if the media was entirely unbiased.. they smell blood so it just compounds the number of articles.

  4. Sturgeon gives evidence at the corona inquiry on Wednesday.

  5. ‘We are accustomed to not being held to account for the things we’ve said and done, so stop holding us to account for the things we’ve said and done. Also look! Over there! TORIES!’

  6. Ooh, I wo der what he is worried about?

The enquiry? The investigation? More of Nadia’s diplomacy?

The fact there is a list of possibilities is not a good sign.

  7. He’s getting the excuses in early.

He’s Scottish politics’ own Eddie Howe.

  8. I can’t see the SNP are going to survive, time for rebrand! New SNP!

  9. ah, we are at the conspiracy theory, persecuted victim stage now are we.

  10. In order of likelihood:

Bunter wanting into the Lords, and with a new fancy lady down in that there London

Oor Nikla getting torn intae at the inquiry on Weds, and shown to be withholding evidence, bypassing cabinet, making up covid rules for SNP gain, looking to exploit covid for independence, being about as secure with data as a hymen in a south ayrshire comprehensive, etc etc

Humza and the Broughty Ferry Imelda Marcos running a separate foreign policy on gaza (again). Linked by family to the drugs dealing and suspicious deaths in Dundee (again). Handing out more money to terrorist affiliated organisations (again).

    Branchform coming good.

  11. Being an ardent supporter of any political party must be exhausting

    It’s also pretty weird

The rest of us are free to vote however we want, then when the useless tossers we put in power invade Iraq or switch-out the leader we elected for some gormless party flunky who could never have won a general election by themselves, we can just shrug and change our vote to Count Binface

But if you’re a party loyalist, you have to invent an entire parallel reality to explain why you’re right and everyone else has been taken-in by the lies of the mainstream media and the shadowy cabal of international billionaires who fund them

  12. Basically he hasn’t got any substantive argument to put forward, so he’s leaning into conspiracy theories. That’s hardly the way to convince people your party remains a credible well-organised political force.

  13. What a weird way of saying we’re going to hear about more incompetence from the SNPs leadership this week.

  14. Not one word saying the attacks are untrue or lack substance.
