The funds “for Ukraine” primarily go to US companies. There is a detailed map obtained by Politico and also a map, which I made last year, showcasing that fact. These are top twelve which benefit the most.

Meanwhile, the EU aid mostly goes directly to Ukraine.

No shit? Who do you think makes the weapons being sent? Should the US outsource it’s arms production to China?
Out of 61 billion what portion is actually military aid? How much of American support pay for the salaries of government in Ukraine to include Emergency services, teachers, government workers pensions?
This is additional to US treasury Department already paying for the deficit in Ukrainian government spending.
In theory Americans pay for it. So Americans pay Americans for missiles that will end as scrap in a matter of months. Might be a good investment to kill Russians but it isn’t going to help American economy.
That’s how foreign aid works. It’s like a gift card to the country it came from.
I do get frustrated with the whole what is Ukraine’s end goal argument. They are trying to push out an aggressor and return to their 1994 borders. We were in Iraq and Afghanistan for 20 years without a clear exit strategy. I would rather spend treasure than blood.
