  1. I forgot to add the 2011 census is the most recent census.

  2. I take it “Muslims” in the second pie chart are specifically *Sunni* Muslims?

  3. Interesting that Orthodox lost so much share but Catholics stayed almost the same.

  4. I’m ignorant, Albanian bro help me out. I’ve never heard of Bektashi, how does it differ from Sunni/Shia?

  5. Bektashi is not a religion , its like calling mormon not christian while they are in nature

  6. As a Romanian who give billions to church I envy you. Share us your succes tips

  7. If you assume that those who replied with “prefer not to answer” are actually quite non-religious / atheist leaning – it is interesting how nearly every Albanian immigrant in western Europe (especially their second-generation children) identify as muslim quite strongly

Possibly because they come from poorer, more religious backgrounds, but maybe also because they tend to hang out & grow up around the socially dominant Moroccan and Turkish youth in western Europe who very strongly identify with Islam

  8. Albania is famous for being the only country in Europe where the Jewish population increased during WWII

From 150 to 2000, most of them Yugoslav and Greek Jews fleeing the Nazis

  9. Always nice to see a rise of atheism 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

  10. If this continues, will Albania become the first Muslim majority in the world to become Muslim minority in the modern era?
