They only have to put back what they dig up. The law is trash and councils don’t push them for any more than the bare minimum.
They have done their job and fulfilled their obligations to the pavement and council.
I can’t imagine noticing something like this, let alone caring about it.

Pretty sure last time this was posted, someone who worked for either the ISP or council said that they are not allowed to do it because of some stupid rule rather than just them doing bare minimum.
Worth it to download Vidya games in less than 2 minutes. Super fast.
City Fibre (and their associated civil ‘engineers’) absolutely ruined every worksite they visited in my local town. They put temp lights up at every site and fucked off for six weeks, then worked a week solid to get the job done.
The re-lining was garbage, the bitumin and tarmac joints in the trenches they’ve dug have failed in the rain and ice and it’s turned the road to an off-road course.
They’re an absolute shit show 😀💩
What a cyclepath
Not my work but I work in civils. If we do more even as a favour, ie fixing a pot hole with spare tar we then take responsibility for it and are reliable for the upkeep of it for 2 years. So after 20months the council will come out and condemn a small part of it making us replace the entire work. That also refreshes the 2 years guarantee and then guess what happens again after another 20months… They made the rules to fuck us over so being helpful or doing upkeep on what the council should be maintaining is actually shooting ourselves in the foot.
UK in a nutshell. Shame.

I think you’ll find ‘Half a job Harry’ actually exceeded expectations on this one. Don’t hate the player hate the game.
Others have said it, but it’s disgraceful how little care those guys take.
They absolutely _destroyed_ the footpath outside ours – it was in perfect nick before they came, and they dug up half the width of a paved footpath, filled it with Tarmac, I complained to the council.
6 months later they came back and they pulled up the tarmac, slapped pavers down that don’t match or line up with the old ones, and a few weeks later cut a channel through the middle of the new ones, and filled it with tarmac again. That was 18 months ago at this point.
The new pavers don’t sit flush with our wall (the old ones did) and the water runoff is eroding the bottom of the wall and there’s a pile of weeds growing up from it that weren’t there before they dug it up.
All because the council weight so heavily on cost when going to tender.

The quickest easiest option, then the council will pay someone else some over inflated figure to come out and re-do it.
This country used to run an empire from an office, now it takes a committee to decide on whether a pothole is deep enough to be worthwhile to fill.
