  1. >The Association of British Insurers (ABI) says a main driver just has to be the person who drives the car the majority of the time.

The majority of the time, cars sit empty.

  2. Fronting has always been the norm for young drivers. It was the default position in the late 90s when I started and no one I knew was a main driver. My car wasn’t even registered at my address until I left Birmingham, preferring to have it officially in my parents low crime village

It’s just now the insurance are stricter about it

  3. Who’d have thought, with the cost of insurance skyrocketing across the board, young drivers who are hit hardest try to find ways to make it cheaper.

  4. Is anyone surprised by this? My insurance renewal shot up 60% even though i have had no accidents or claims, no motoring convictions. How is this 60% increase justified? Its blatant GREED and PROFITEERING. This country is just a fucking mess.

I’ve seen people post car insurance renewals on the CarTalkUK sub and sombody posted not long ago. £1600 last year price and his renewal was over £7000.
