Texas authorities have released dashboard and bodycam footage showing a dramatic car and foot chase that happened late last year during which both a deputy and a K9 were shot at, and a teenage suspect shot several times.

The Harris County Sheriff’s Office named the suspect as 19-year-old Carlos Harper. They said he ran a red light, then refused to stop, leading a deputy on a four-minute pursuit that ended in a crash.

Bodycam from Deputy Christian Villanueva shows him attempting to arrest Harper, who does not comply. Harper took out a gun and “fired one round at close range at the deputy, grazing him in the head”, the sheriff’s office said.

A K9 then caught Harper, who shot at the dog, and “began striking [it] on the head and body with his pistol.”

The video ends with Harper bleeding and complying with the K9’s handler. He was arrested and taken to hospital for treatment for gunshot wounds and a dog bite. He was charged with aggravated assault against a public servant, evading arrest/detention with a motor vehicle, and interfering with a police service animal.

  1. Always a bit ironic (or idiotic, depending upon one's perspective) to see people fleeing from law enforcement using their turn signals while being chased. But, it looks to me that the 'tard didn't even have a magazine loaded in his sidearm.

  2. They never turn the siren off. There is actually a tactical reason for doing so. The loud siren blocks out commands from police, intensifies the level of adrenalin, and blocks an officer calling for help from arriving officers. I always turned mine off for these reasons, plus I just hated listening to it 😂
