  2. Defund and disband UNRWA! Palestinians can use UNHCR like every single other refugee in the world. UNRWA never should’ve existed to begin with.

    Absolutely the most damning part of the article.

    Take a minute to think about the implications of “the only functioning body in Gaza” and one which Israel has been trying to preserve, *still being complicit in terrorism.*

  10. This whole UNRWA thing should make huge waves in the UN.

    It doesn’t even have anything to do with which side of the conflict you support (although people can’t do any impartial thinking so of course they’re going to take UNRWA side), there’s something much more fundamental at fault here. The UN has one goal and one goal only and it is to prevent wars and support peace. You can argue how effectively thay achieved it up until now, but to have a UN agency do the exact opposite: directly take part in an unambiguous act of war, this has to start a deep structural change in how the UN works or the organisation risks becoming even more of a complete farce.
