The Gardai are at a crisis point. Morale and recruitment numbers are at an all-time low. That contrasted with huge population growth, crime epidemics and rampant drug problems (using & dealing).
Nobody will address this as they fear the political backlash that comes with it.

The last time I came across a checkpoint was during the COVID lockdown! Before that they were fairly regularly in my area
Sure not to worry…vote FFG again for the next government and they’ll fix it….and when they don’t, then vote for them again after that and they’ll fix it then…or maybe the time after that.
