Officers at Sharonville Police Department in Ohio were “getting pretty good” at birdcatching after carrying out two hawk rescues in a week, the department said.

Footage released by Sharonville Police Department shows Sergeant Derek Broenner and Officer Ross Siefring carefully using a cardboard box to capture a hawk sitting by the side of a road.

This was the second bird rescue in the same week for Broenner, who was no stranger to the cardboard box technique.

“Sgt. Broenner is getting pretty good at this…we think he may have found a gig for post-retirement. Did you hear that “CAW CAW”?” Sharonville Police Department wrote, referring to Broenner’s calls to the injured bird.
