Managed to get a photo this weekend of the smallest bird in Ireland, the goldcrest!

  1. These lads can never stand still for more than a few seconds and they’re usually at the very tops of the trees so I’m amazed I was able to get a fairly decent photo. Smaller than the wren, these guys weigh less than a 10c coin!

  2. Gorgeous birds. We’ve one that occasionally hovers around the window looking for spiders and things. They’re so small I remember thinking he was a butterfly at first. 

  3. Once I managed to save one. ☺️
    The little guy was trying to repeatedly fly through a glass pane in Leopardstown Business Park.
    I took him to the nearby bushes for cover.
