found these in the bathroom wall and I don’t smoke, can’t find an approximate date for them.
most are L&B with the diagonal text and there’s a lot of those cards so I’m assuming they’re all from around the time that they changed their packaging.

Thought it was interesting either way

  1. My parents used to smoke Lambert & Butler ciggies. Those I would guess are from the mid-to-late nineties or early noughties.

  2. Just short of £1:50 for a ten pack and free roach.

    Nostalgia.

  3. For a while, I called these “Lamb Bear” (say it with a French accent), after the actor Christopher Lambert (the bloke from Highlander) who decided that was how to pronounce his name

  4. That design was still about mid 2000’s not sure about the price thoug but looks about 2003

  5. Mid 90s based on price.

Health warning on front came in  the early 90s and then was made much bigger in the early 2000s

  6. 90s, I’m sure you could get those awful redbands for less than a quid.

  7. Used to cost me £2 for 10 when I started smoking in 2004, so probably before then. But not too long before then

  8. Jesus, you want an example of how deep cigs get you –

I’ve not smoked for *years* now and this photo of some dirty shitty old boxes of cigs gave me a very brief “ohh, I’d love a smoke” feeling.

Never start smoking kids, even if it is just for a few years!

  9. 98-2002, smoked Mayfair back then, remember them being that price. Haven’t smoked cigs for years. Quite fancy one now tho….

  10. It’s deffo around 96-99. They was that price in my last years at school or 20p for one of a mate. I remember 2007-2009 it used to cost me a fiver a day for 10 Mayfair a bottle of Irn Bru a chocolate bar and the Daily Star.

  11. I smoked Lamberts for years and I can remember that exact £1.38 packet. I used to buy ten smokes and four pints of industrial strength cider every Friday night. Smashed on a tenner. 1997. Ish.

  12. The use of old 3 times is a bit much 😅 used to still have change out of a fiver.

  13. It was £1.38 for 20 in ’88 when I started, so about 94/95 I’d say.

  14. £1.38 for 10 L&B that’s about 1995ish I would guess.was a good bit later before they changed the packaging.
