  1. It’s impossible with what we have now to ever recover/see it now, right? I think Titan was what in the 10-12K ft range?

  2. People have been “finding” her plane for 87 years. It’s never her plane, it’s just to get you to read the article.

  3. Uhhh, 16,000 feet is quite uh e depth. The ocean is a plane graveyard. Mighty big claim, there.

  4. Sonar detects possible Amelia Earhart plane 16,000 ft underwater. Incredible find!

  5. Amelia Earhart’s lost plane found 16,000 feet below – sonar success!

  6. Earhart’s plane possibly found underwater: Sonar detects at 16,000 feet!

  7. Wouldnt her bones be gone by now if they were that deep? I remember reading something that either the carbon ate the calcium in the bones of the people on the Titanic that’s why only their clothes remain, wouldn’t the same happened here?

  8. There’s a great book I read years ago called “I was Amelia Earhart”. Fiction but such a great story about how she and Noonan lived out their days on an island.

  9. Giving all cetaceans a throbbing headache to find one lady’s remains

  10. Hopefully it isn’t so this dumb rich person can continue to fork over cash to working people to keep trying to find it.

  11. When you see a popular post on Reddit remember to steal it and upload to another popular sub so we can keep the cycle of recycled content going

    Moron

  12. Considering the amount of planes that were downed around the area during ww2, it’s likely not Earhart’s plane.

  13. Whenever I see headlines like this, I always think: “What horrendous, rights-removing bill is the US congress passing today?”

  14. That’s not where I parked my plane.
    Amelia Earhart, probably

  15. Seems to me the odds of finding a specific airplane within the expanse of the Pacific Ocean’s floor are preposterously small.

Odds of finding at least one vaguely plane-shaped blob: pretty darn good.
