  6. North of Scotland here. I can confirm it’s 21 degrees in my living room. Im wearing a t shirt. Dinner is cooking on my gas hob. TV on watching the Chase. PS5 is running an update for gaming later.

  7. It’s so funny how out-of-touch with reality so many people in Russia (and russia-aligned countries) are with the quality of living in the west. I tried to explain to some people that my job is literally walking around in a museum, telling people not to touch the artworks. I do this 3 days a week and get by just fine while living in Amsterdam, fucking paradise of the world. During winter my house is at 20c. I can go on vacation maybe 1 week per year, nothing fancy, I’m a minimalist. But compared to them I live like a king. They just can’t accept it lol, telling me I’m lying… Oh well…

Recently we’ve had a couple of storms here in the UK which resulted in a few thousand houses in various places losing electricity for several hours, and we’ve had a few days of temperatures that are lower than the norm for this time of year. But I haven’t been aware of any widespread, prolonged problems. And, yeah, energy is expensive and there are some people on limited incomes who face very unpleasant choices of heating or eating. That’s scandalous in a developed, wealthy country and an indictment of the right-wing party that’s been running the UK for decades now, but the reality is nowhere near as grim as the Russian propagandists would like Russians to believe.

  9. East coast Canadian here , its -2 C outside in the end of January , my window is open during the day to let outside air in , we got El Nino hot ocean phenomenon this year heating up NA , even Poseidon hate Ruzzians lol.

  13. German here, winter is nearly over and i am lying on my couch without socks in my 21°C apartment.

    What makes me sad are all the ukrainian lifes that are lost, f these russians, all sympathy for normal russian citizens is gone after 2 years. Freeze to death idgaf.

  17. Meanwhile Germany is producing more renewable energy every year while gas and electricity prices have been sinking continously since over 1 1/2 years, approaching levels from well before the pre-invasion price surge.

    Also i am quite comfortably warm.

  24. Boston, MA USA area – I keep my thermostat off during the day (unless the temp outside is lower than 20F(-6 C); turn it up to 68 F (20C) for three-four hours in the evening and shut off overnight. Nice and toasty.

  25. Romania here currently there’s 2° outside and 23 inside. Too warm to sleep with a blanket. Not that ivans know about cold.
