Help me to read old Austro-Hung. surname. I am doing genealogy research and I have stumbled upon an Austrian looking name that I am not sure how to read correctly. As the place of origin is in Rechnitz, AU you might help me. I read Maria Poschandl, but can’t find anybody (but one) with this surname

    I’m going with Michael Magedli Paerson but this is open to debate.

  2. It definitely says Maria Poschandl. Changing spellings weren’t that unusual at the time (see the evolution of Hitler’s last name for example), so maybe that’s why you can’t find anything on her.
