For me he was a fantastic team player with surprisingly great technique. I look at Camavinga and I see an evolved version of lassana.

Any oldies here like me who remember Lass Diarra?

  1. Lass was alright. I had higher expectations from Gago tho. I thought Garay was exciting too back then.

  2. Man handled himself well. Quite a bit of the Makalele vibe going on with him.

  3. Lass? What about Mahamadou Diarra? Lass’s brother from a different continent. Or the rare sighting of Pablo Garcia?

  4. I remember when pepe got a red card for hitting the shin of a barcelona player but the replay showed he literally did not touch him. No VAR back then so red card stood and we lost.

It was under mourinho and he was hoping for a 0-0 at the bernabeu and then win at camp nou on away goals.

I wish i could remember exactly what the match was but all I remember is it was home and away games at a tournament.

  5. I used to really like him back then. Seemed like a perfect Mourinho player.

  6. don’t make me feel so old saying how we’re oldies if we remember Lass..

  7. He was good, but are you old enough to remember Makélélé? IMO letting him go was one of Prez’s greatest mistakes.

  8. Lass Gago was the worst midfield duo in Real Madrid for the last 24 years.

  9. He was exceptional for the first half season. He was basically prime Essien/Makelele/Vieira level in those months and as soon as he got the #10 jersey, he started deflating. He could’ve been a club legend had he kept his form. Single-handedly defended the whole midfield like there were three of him on the field. Supposedly his work ethic was problematic

  10. He was solid but for some reason his performance went downwards suddenly and eventually left on weird terms.

  11. Unironically my favourite player from that era. So tenacious and surprisingly skilled on the ball, had some style too.

  12. With the galácticos team would have been more successful.

  13. Unironically my favourite player from that era along with Kaka. So tenacious and surprisingly skilled on the ball, had some style too.

  14. Used to play him and M Diarra in FIFA 11. Lass was the number 10 of the team at that time.

  15. I remember him being pretty decent until Khedira came in and won the job.

Shame that Canales never really flourished…

  16. Lass was honestly great, second coming of makelele. Just never understood why they gave him the 10 jersey. Such a hard worker just should’ve stayed playing CDM but they kept pushing him to be a box to box player
