Now i’m gonna watch Jeffery and Ian slabber each other.
They’re agreeing to elect a speaker
They’re agreeing their place in the Union has been restored
Jim Allister is sure to be delighted tonight.
“Our party officers have agreed and are prepared to move forward on the proposals put forwards by the government”

If I understood that correctly – not until all this new legislation has been actioned
“What was being reported on social media does not reflect what happened in that meeting…. misrepresentation”
On JB he’s saying everything he came out with on twitter tonight is absolute BS
“My party booking a decision tonight, there was a vote held, the DUP has been decisive”
Seems to be stomping on any idea of a split
“I have seen some nonsense the past few days… misinformation”
Another dig at JB LOL
Do the rebels go to the TUV or create RUP, Really Upset Protestants?
It’ll be interesting to see what shade of red Jim allister is in the morning.
Lol he’s still bitter about Sinn Féin winning the election 😅😅😅
“I would have liked unionism to win that election but due to splits in unionism, SF won that election”
Turns out you can have Power Sharing and the Protocol.
Someone tell Bin Boy.
Gonna be interesting to see the next steps of SF, it sounds like there will be more changes coming to the already agreed deal, I don’t see it happening but I am very curious if SF will accept this to also put forward a nomination or will the changes they are being put in place be a deal breaker and not nominate a speaker due to this without having a say.
Bit late at night for wee Jeff to be making a statement. I thought he’d be wrapped up in bed with a few select erotic male videos by this time of night.
“We are determined to take our place in moving northern ireland forward”
“Strong case for moving into gov providing (english) gov meets its side”
I was kinda hoping he’d walk out all smiles with “The Boys are back in town” blaring over the speakers and the media clapping along. Maybe with a Teresa May shuffle thrown in
“Let us find a solution”
Implement the Irish Language act then you twat lol
“Let us never again do to ourselves what we have done in recent years”
“Let us resolve to find ways to resolve our differences … to not poke eachother in the eye”
“My party voted on the decision tongiht and we are a democratic party. I am confident that all members of my party will accept… On that basis where we differ, we can differ well and we can work together to make further change that we need”
“Let me make something very clear, we’re not done with this, we have come a long way and made real progress.”
“The others who shout from the sidelines…. I simply ask them well what have you achieved? Where’s your change? What have you been able to deliver?”
Who is going to be DFM?
“That Amanda is a question for another day”
Holy fuck you can tell he was crying within the last half hour before that started, or was very well on the verge of tears. Steadied himself as it went on.
Does anybody know the whereabouts of Jim Allister? I’d like to do a welfare check.
The journalists and even jeffrey laughing when they asked “who will be deputy First minister?”
JB gives his shit opinion
” A sad night for the Union, as a section of DUP decide to endorse the implementation & acceptance of the Irish Sea border. They will not only enthrone SF, but will betray their fundamental commitments. Those of us who oppose the Irish Sea border will fight on &, I trust, so too will those in the DUP who cannot put their name to this surrender of NI’s place in the Union. Shame on those who have sold out. Immense credit to those courageous enough to take a stand. This isn’t nearly over yet. “
“Nigel Dodds then rose to his feet and spoke against the deal. One of the best speeches ever delivered. ”
This one has me cracking up.
Good.
### UK government will stick to agreement – NI secretary
Northern Ireland Secretary Chris Heaton-Harris says the move by the DUP is “a welcome and significant step”, adding that parties entitled to form an executive will meet later on Tuesday.
“I am grateful to Sir Jeffrey Donaldson and colleagues for the constructive dialogue over the past months and to the other political parties in Northern Ireland for the patience they have shown during this time,” he adds.
“I am pleased the DUP have agreed to accept the package of measures that the UK government has put forward and as a result they are ready to return to the Northern Ireland Assembly and nominate representatives to the Northern Ireland Executive.
“Sir Jeffrey Donaldson has said this is subject to the binding commitments between the Democratic Unionist Party and the UK government – I can confirm that we will stick to this agreement.”
Party leader Mary Lou McDonald says she feels “optimistic” about getting the institutions back up and running after the news that the DUP has endorsed a new deal.
“Sinn Féin will now engage with the parties and both governments to ensure we now all press on without delay.
“It is vital there is political stability to address the scale of the crisis across our public services.”
She says that it’s time to “focus minds on the job at hand and to the solutions required to support workers and families who want and deserve functioning government”.
DUP ‘betrayed their own solemn pledges’ – TUV leader
As we reported earlier, the Traditional Unionist Voice (TUV) party have formed some of the main opposition to the DUP agreeing a deal with the government at this stage.
Its leader Jim Allister took to X (formerly known as Twitter) to give his reaction to tonight’s proceedings.
“Sadly, in betrayal of their own solemn pledges, the DUP has caved in on an Irish Sea border, EU law and the suspension of Article 6. Seems not one word of the Union-dismantling Protocol has been removed.”
Nolan will be loving it, will give him loads to slabber about and he will be giving it the old hard man finger wipe sniff big time.
