A -40 cold streak took out 2 of the largest Methane Gas Plants in Alberta for about a week, on top of a “scheduled” maintenance on a third plant during a period of some of the highest seasonal demand. The only reason the province didn’t go full Texas was renewables, and even then the consumer saw an 8x increase in their electric bill.
