EU wants to destroy member state economy, and people don’t care.
The economy should selectively hurt the oligarchs, not the people.
The people, especially rural, are just trapped in a Fidesz bubble. They don’t understand any other language to escape that bubble. Hungary is not doing that well economically compared to Poland or Romania, Fidesz keeps blaming the EU being mean for their troubles.

The rules say a unanimous vote is required, therefore a single vote can block the transfer of money, whether the recipient is Ukraine or Hungary, and if you don’t like that then either (try to) change the rules, or resign from the party.
Monumental fuckup from the EU. Two weeks ago they condemn Germany for giving aid directly and now conspire to sabotage or just blackmail Hungary. It seems like Brussels is more interested in grabbing power, whipping members in line and taking credit rather than aiding Ukraine. It would’ve been far easier to just organize willing members and better for Ukraine as well.
Without a good economy, it is impossible for people to have a good life. Looking at the companies and industries that have moved from the EU to North America and Asia in the past year or so, the market value may exceed hundreds of billions of euros. But no leader seems to really care about these issues? And fighting each other, internal friction.

This will fuel more hatred towards the EU among millions of citizens. Hungarians are suffering enough already. I dunno if this is a smart decision.
Stopping charity to Hungary has nothing to do with sabotage. They no longer fullfill their obligations to receive handouts so now they will lose that privilege. Either stop leeching or fullfill your obligations.
