At least it wasn’t just performative for the cameras, and he actually filed an amicus brief to this effect. Tons of talking heads have been yapping about it, but almost none have actually taken action…
The reality is, Republicans like this need to stand up against the direction the party has taken. The more that do, the greater the chance we can rid ourselves of this latest version of proto-fascism.
The more inescapably obvious it gets that Trump is disqualified under 14a Article 3, the more determined the SCOTUS Six become to shatter the Constitution and rescue him.
They don’t need to. The Constitution already has disqualified him.

If it happens ( I doubt it), then where does it all end? Once you remove Trump without a conviction, then you set the stage to remove potential elected officials down the ticket as well.
What if the GOP wants to define what Jamal Bowmann did as “insurrection” by pulling that fire alarm to delay/stop that vote?
Someone could argue that Biden allowing millions through the Southern Border as a type of “insurrection”
Where does it end?
What about all the Democrats who said things in public and in the press during the rioting/looting/burning through 2019/2020 that could be construed as egging on “civil unrest”?
This is a dangerous slippery slope.
If they want to make the claim that Trump is ineligible for office then start removing all of MAGA members from Congress. How are they still holding active positions in our government if we clearly have pegged them for aiding and providing comfort to the enemy.

The constitution’s text is clear as day. It does not require conviction – and Trump’s efforts to stay in power fit. So either the Supreme Court has to deny Trump access to the ballot, or be exposed as the hypocrites they are.
If they dont, they will be irradicated by Trump if he gets in.
