I can’t believe I’m having to post this but I’m baffled as to how I’m supposed to eat them 😂

It says on the back to not use a toaster so now I’m scratching my head as I thought hot cross buns were supposed to be toasted

Anyone had these before? How did you eat em?

  1. That’s bullshit, you just toast them as normal and suffer the fact your house smells like burnt chocolate for a bit.

Or use a grill. But we just toast them but not for too long else all the chocolate melts and runs out.

  2. I toasted them at normal last year! But just until the choc start to get melty, not till it it too runny. Twas fine! But you can always use the grill?

The cheddar ones are the best though!

  3. I usually toast them myself. Not sure if it’s got anything to do with the fact it has chocolate in… I’d think these would be fine to toast, but otherwise, heat them in the grill for a few seconds – that’s what I usually do with Brioche buns.

  4. Air dry them for 4 days and enjoy your chocolatey hot cross cross bun jerky. The last letter is very important there

  5. Like an Ortolan, with a towel covering your head to hide your shame for indulging in such decadence

  6. Before we had toasters, we used the grill… These days you could probably air-fryer them.

  7. You need a wild toaster, a domestic toaster has lost the natural instinct to toast chocolate.

I would guess the grill because of the risk of chocolate melting into the toaster but I’d just go for it*

    *at your own risk

  8. You cut them open, and pop them under the grill – toast on both sides if you so wish.

We’ve had them, we love them.

  9. Toasted with butter. Try the chocolate orange ones next time, they’re the reason I’m fat.

  10. Have we seriously got to a point where people don’t know how to toast a hot cross bun using the grill?

  11. Lurpak??? Why are you buying that garbage when you can buy local butter

  12. Last year I got some and toasted them fine. Wasn’t a big fan of them though

  13. I use the stove and a pan on those, but they’re fine on a normal toaster too. They probably just didn’t want to be responsible if the chocolate leaks and ruins the toaster.

  14. I toasted them in a normal toaster. Didn’t notice the messsage!

  15. Firstly you smear them all over your face. Then you fill your nappy and babble about triangles like other toddlers.

  16. I’d use a George Foreman or air fryer to crisp ’em, even a microwave if you don’t mind them warm but a bit softer, then lashings of butter & mange like the lil’ piggy I am!

  17. If you *toast* them, they might become less *cross* 🙂
On a serious note, I think they should be fine to toast. Gods be with you!

  18. Personally, not at all. Easter chocolate should be in Easter eggs, not Easter buns. Harrumph!

  19. So if you haven’t got access to a grill you can toast them using a dry (no oil) frying pan. Halve them and toast the face part only.

  20. Use them to make some sort of chocolatey bread and butter pudding.

  21. I stick them in the toaster, as long as you keep an eye they’re fine
