  2. Apparently the M-84AV has been in service in Kuwait, at least until recently, and Croatia has experience in repairing and upgrading them. Win-win.

  4. These tanks were manufactured in Croatia (at that time YU), and have proven to be outstanding in the first Gulf war. Hence, I believe they will serve Ukraine well.

Kuwait still has some 149 tanks so this would be majority of the tanks. I wonder if they got some good deal on newer western tanks to replace these with.
    In short: based on T-72 but upgraded in the mid-80’s with more powerful engine, little bit more armoring and upgraded firecontrols.

  21. The Kuwaities know very well what it feels like being invaded by an asshole neighbor, so if this is true and happens, then my respect to them is tenfold.
    Just the logistics of getting those tanks back to Croatia, repair and redit and then send them to Ukraine will take time, but it would be welcomed.
