Just because she is communist it doesn’t mean she want to make a soviet. Same with the mayor of Patras here in Greece. He is a communist and yet, the city is prospering with him, he do realize the state of the world and try to do changes that make life better without say create trouble to businesses that exist for profit.
Graz is the best city in Austria. Lived there for a while and found it truly wonderful. DId not know the mayor was communist – seems she’s the good type of communist. She’s doing a great job!
Communists in Austria are not real communists, they’re more like social democrats in terms of views and actions. No need to compare them to some EE communist party that sent your granddad to Siberia.

A couple of week back I watched a short documentary about her on Dutch TV. Was really impressed with her and how she actually cared for her constituency and was not just another mouthpiece for some neo-liberal “social-democratic” party.
