As in new footage you’ll go take or old footage just off the internet?
Traditional Irish Thatched Cottages – try looking that up, might help not sure. 👍🏻
You never asked for permission to take photos of my house.
Try Archive.org they should have something, you can search by year to get some older footage
West clare has plenty, Bunratty folk park in east clare also has a restored village with thatched cottages. Very nice place and the people working there are sound!
I would have recommended Margaret Gallagher’s house but I think that’s it.
My mother’s friend lives in a thatched roof cottage, he’d probably allow your daughter to film there if you can’t find anywhere closer to you
At least in Donegal out in Glencolumbkille right out on the west coast youll find some, also one near St Johns Point
Is no one else seeing what I’m seeing?
Muckross farms in Killarney have old style cottages like this that can be visited. There might be some footage of them around the internet
Not sure if it’s still there but there was a fake Irish cottage up the Dublin mountains, near the military road. Was sure it was real until I walked right up to it to discover it was made of plastic! Had to have been from a film set so it could be perfect for your daughter’s project.
Where are you located? Theres a lovely thatched cottage on foxes Lane in raheny, Dublin.
This is a typical celtic tiger house
flashbacks from “the field”
Why not just go to that cottage. It’s in Fermanagh.
There’s also the Ulster American folk park. They’d have one I’d bet.
this picture is from a documentary called ‘Margaret Gallagher’s story’ and is on YouTube [Here](https://youtu.be/lRL9iIN3R8s). Watch all about this cottage (Short film)
Few here after one quick search for irish cottage. Could try some more terms in the British Pathe, always a good go-to for old footage, even of Ireland!
