  1. The movie RoboCop dealt with these themes. In a weak government country like the US, private companies make a fortune by operating in the traditional public spaces like healthcare, education, insurance, housing, etc. RoboCop just took it one step further to police.

  2. What does she mean, they can set rents to whatever they want? They set prices to market price, same as literally every other buyer and seller in the economy.

  3. We need more house builders; we have plenty of land in the US.

  4. There is a term the government uses for handling people like this. These parasites should be neutralized.

  5. The main point of property investment is to offload it (sell it/rent it out)

The price here is determined by market value. Otherwise, you would see owners trying to sell or rent at 10x market value.

Additionally, businesses have been doing this for decades making up 12%-20% of market dwellings (on average). Most people on reddit just haven’t known about it apparently.

  6. Didn’t Tricon just sell off to Blackstone?!?!? 😂 Pieces of shit

  7. People should start squatting in these homes, have the AI print up a lease for you and set up some utilities and you will have more rights than the landlord.

  8. maintenance costs alone will hurt them if they aren’t bringing in rent money
