If Hunt uses all of the fiscal room created by falling inflation to cut taxes, it’s because they’re desperate to not get absolutely crushed at the next election.
Labour need to reverse these, and start looking at sensible wealth taxes as well.
I hate the tories as much as the next person but sending ethan hunt(tom cruise) to assasinate sunak feels a bit extreme, even if he works for the IMF.
Smash and Burn policy in action.
The Tories know they are fucked so are trying to ruin the country as much as possible on the way out so they can waltz back in the next election cycle on the back of “Oh look how Labour fucked everything and didnt fix everything we broke”.

IMF: warns against tax cuts
Tories: “What do they know?”. We’re the party of fiscal responsibility!
To be fair, the government’s own watchdog [is saying the Tories are making it up as they go along](https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2024/jan/23/head-of-obr-says-lack-of-budget-details-led-to-work-of-fiction-forecasts-last-year), so this isn’t really surprising.
