Murdoch and Putin got their way with Brexit they probably will with trump reelection. If anything the UAE might add some independent thinking into the mix. From the limited sources I know of, UAE is like unironically the most sane country in Middle East with very few negative news about it, or any kind of news at all.
If the UAE buys the Torygraph, it will become the PR arm of a group that hates refugees, fails to tackle the climate crisis, discriminates against LGBT people, curtails workers’ rights, and restricts the right to protest, when previously it was the PR arm of a group that… er… um…
