3. Biden’s massive fiscal stimulus is what saved the US economy and made it the worldwide star in the post-covid economic recovery. This is after Republicans falsely blamed it for the US inflation spike, which never had any credibility. Instead of a recession the US economy is enjoying a factory boom, cooling inflation, rising real wages and record low unemployment. Economists are suggesting it points to new ways of dealing with future economic crises, relying more on government fiscal policy than Fed monetary policy.

4. Governments should spend it crisis and heavily tax when the economy is good. If only this was automatically built into our laws so that we can limit the suffering and political footballing.
