There’s been rumblings and reports that him, Ward, Graham, and Klopp had disagreements behind the scenes and it why Edwards, Ward and Graham left. Supposedly Klopp wanted more power in the recruitment aspect, and they didn’t like it so they walked. The Hendo extension was a big point of issue according to these reports. Obviously this isn’t proven as no one I mentioned above has spoken about it.
If those rumblings and reports are true, it’s not surprising he doesn’t want to come back. FSG sided with Klopp at the time (and rightfully so imo), so Edwards probably feels slighted by FSG and doesn’t really want to work with them again. I wouldn’t be shocked if FSG made one more attempt to get him back and offered total sporting control.
