I’m always aware of the possibility of some idiot pushing me on the rails for some reason.

UPDATE: According to the VRT NWS it’s a 23 year old French guy who the police in France apparently already heard of before.

Some platforms in Paris have barriers on the side of the tracks, that only open when the metro is on the platform.
I *really* want them to install that now.
It seems the victim and the train driver were both taken to hospital yesterday but are already at home and the perpetrator was arrested at De Brouckere metro, having fled the scene.
I really hope the lady and the train driver will both be OK.
I love everyone’s reactions and the way this terrible act was handled. There’s two guys immediately jumping down to help the woman and others are immediately going after the asshole.
There’s people here minimising the train driver’s merits because the train was already slowing down, but still he reacted very quickly and did exactly the right thing.
In mean obviously this will still be a very traumatising experience, especially for the lady who got pushed and for the driver as well, but this could have turned out so much worse:
“Woman dies after being pushed under metro that couldn’t stop in time, police are looking for the culprit who is still at large, no security footage available because camera’s didn’t work”.

Someone right after runs towards him and punches him in the face. All my respect to that guy to at least stop the murderer. Hope this action makes and end to his life. What a waste of human.
Why is the criminal only charged with **manslaughter** and not **murder**. The way he sneaks up to her could be seens as premeditated.
Either way, what’s the **max jailtime** he can get for manslaughter?
I hope this asshole gets life in prison without parole. This is just insane.
I hope the lady is oke, that was a pretty hard fall she did damn. I hope they lynch that guy when he gets released early, no merci for people like that.
