Mine doesn’t. I’m a big boy and go to the shops on my own now.
Because in her eyes, you’re still a 5yr old & need guidance. My wife treats my kids (21 & 19) is if they young children. Total madness.
Mum here:
Because full trollies are hard to steer, I like some one guiding the front for me.
Just make sure that when the time comes that you need to do this for your mum, that you do.
So you don’t run off to the snacks and add stuff in yourself.
It stops you charging off in to the toys or confectionary aisles.
Because she loves you, and you have no idea how valuable that is.
My mum still grabs my hand when we’re about to cross a road… I’m 38 and have a son of my own now 🤣🤣
I’m 48, and if I go shipping with my mum, it’s either this or just surrendering the trolley. I tend to do the latter, and then she disappears with the thing, so I’m walking around with arms full of produce.. until I bump into her again, and she asks where I’ve been…👀🤣
She didn’t spend several hours pushing you though a 3cm hole just to risk you dying in the arid and unforgiving landscape of a Grocery store.
My mum would never let me push the trolley in the first place
One day you’ll look back at all the quirky things your mum did and wish she were still here to do them. My father always held my hand crossing the road even when I was in my 50’s – I wish he was still here to do that. Embrace the quirks, it’s a sign of love.
Stay in bed on shopping day?
Keep whining about going to the toy shop?
Dart off every couple of minutes to the sweets isle?
Make car noises every time you move the trolley?
My mother does it as like a solidarity thinh because we both despise shopping for food. Trying to maneuver around supermarkets sucks “the big one”
cause it makes her feel better doing it , even though its midly irational
Because most trolleys are a pain in the arse to keep straight on your own.
