Next step is point to the settled Russians and claim how there’s no Ukrainian identity and how it was Russians that have always occupied Ukrainian land and their protection is the solemn duty of the Russian state. Then roll in with tanks again and “accidentally” annex more “buffer zone”, eating away at what never belonged to Russia in the first place.
