Sunak urges Iran to ‘de-escalate’ Middle East tensions

How concerned are you about the escalation in the Middle East following the deaths of the US troops in Jordan yes we are concerned and would urge Iran to continue to deescalate tensions in the region we absolutely condemn what has happened over the past couple of days my thoughts are with all of those

Impacted those who have lost their lives their families and those that are injured We Stand resolutely with our allies to bring stability and peace to the region and that’s what we’ll continue to work towards

Rishi Sunak has urged Iran to de-escalate tensions in the Middle East after three US troops were killed and 34 injured in a drone strike on a US base in Jordan.

The attack marked the first US military losses in the region since the Israel-Hamas war began, raising fears of a wider conflict. Joe Biden, the US president, blamed Iran-backed militias for the attack.

“We are concerned and would urge Iran to continue to de-escalate tensions in the region,” said Mr Sunak. “We stand resolutely with our allies to bring stability and peace to the region. And that’s what we’ll continue to work towards.”

Mr Biden vowed the US would “respond” to Sunday’s attack and Iran-backed fighters in eastern Syria reportedly began evacuating their posts amid fears of retaliatory air strikes.

  1. Why doesn’t Yemen give aid to Palestine or take in refugees ? Why doesn’t Iran do the same ? Yet our ships get attacked and the west is evil? We see through this Iranian proxy !

  2. He is absolutely 💯 NOT concerned, in fact he sounds so false and insincere. He knows what the future holds regardless of anyone or anything. We have lost control of all of our governments democracy or not.

  3. He would be better spending his time stopping the invasion of the uk from the sea … Royal Navy ships should be protecting our waters stopping the Invasion to protect the British people !

  4. Israel being the sole reason for tension in the Middle East need, of course, not de-escalate its terrorism against the Palestinians, no. It's Iran that, trying to stop Israel's terrorism against the Palestinians, needs to de-escalate. Stands to reason, don't it?
