This is already the 50th exchange of prisoners. Soldiers of the Armed Forces, National Guard, border guards and policemen are among the returning soldiers. There are many defenders of Mariupol and Azovstal and Kherson. There are also defenders of Zmiiny (Snake) Island. So far, Ukraine has managed to return a total of 3,035 prisoners of war.
I wonder how many are from that IL-76 list
The coordination headquarters specified that among the released individuals, there are 27 officers, totaling 95 soldiers from the Armed Forces, 56 National Guard members, 26 border guards, 29 Territorial Defense fighters, and one police officer.
*At least 36 of the released individuals suffer from injuries or serious illnesses.*
Among those returning is Junior Sergeant *Zakhar, who was captured with his wife Tetiana. Tetiana was exchanged six months later, but tragically, she and their younger daughter perished in a Russian missile strike, leaving behind their older daughter who now awaits Zakhar’s return.* The exchange also involved medics who worked under challenging conditions at the Mariupol Metallurgical Plant and Azovstal.
Ombudsman Dmytro Lubinets added that this marks the *50th prisoner exchange, with Ukraine successfully bringing back a total of 3,035 prisoners of war.*
According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, *Ukraine transferred 195 prisoners of war.*
