  1. “Do socially disruptive climate protests actually work?” Not so far, but of course, we will never know how much worse it would have been without them. I predict that they will escalate as the climate emergency gets worse.

  2. Oh, disrupting society is the most effective way to get things done. Now we just need more numbers. Keep up the fight, join a local environmental association.

  3. Not for me, Climate change is real, I don’t need protesters to understand it’s a problem! Also not for the climate change deniers, they dig deeper into denial because they don’t want to associate their beliefs with the people protesting. Leave artists and museums out of this fight, this will not win people over!

  4. The idea of protests isn’t to convince naysayers. It’s to disrupt society enough that those people contact their elected officials and ask them to change their policies (or be faced with further delays on the road etc).

  5. You need crazies to bring the powers that be to negotiate with the reasonable.

  6. Maybe not. But, if not, then the answer to “what WILL work” is things we can’t discuss on this sub.

The only people who can criticize these protestors are people who are doing MORE. That’s a pretty small list.
