Turkey’s President threatens expelling ambassadors of the United States, Canada, France, Finland, Denmark, Germany, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway and Sweden that jointly issued a statement for the release of jailed Osman Kavala.

    i am not gonna even mention the hypocrisy of these nations-admittedly i dont know much about nz, denmark, finland and norway so i speak for the rest- to demand anything from anyone.

    regardless of my position on kavalas case, the ambassadors of these nations should indeed be sent away.

    Obviously I wasn’t there when it happened so I can’t tell the truth a part. However I know Erdogan is known for accusing a lot of people, even some of his political opponent(like during Instanbul election) of terrorism and other things like that.

    There are so many that it feels grotesque. So I’d rather trust that poor guy in the cell than the guy who keeps inventing accusations of terrorism/conspiracy 24/7

  16. What I find odd is why they did not include Selahattin Demirtaş when they made the effort to do joint statements like this.

    Selahattin Demirtaş was obviously a political rival and looked like he was just growing in popularity till Erdogan literally used his media power to brand the guy a terrorist and lock him up for basically the same nonsense.

  22. Can someone explain to me what this deal is with Osman Kavala and that US pastor that got released some time ago?

    Both seem to have a lot of “friends”.. Are the charges against them.. somewhat true?
